Sometimes people suddenly drop out for incomprehensible reasons. Or the behavior of certain team members suddenly changes in an undesirable way. Why is that?
Mangers and their teams are focused on achieving the objectives. In order to work well together, they develop a collaborative relationship with their team members. In work situations, such collaborative relations are often limited to what is necessary to be able to produce. As a result, managers often don’t know their team members well enough. As a result, important events in the lives of team members seem to come as a surprise. To be clear, the responsibility for a collaborative relationship always remains a shared responsibility.
During our ‘GROW the InPersona way’ program we pay attention to the difference between a so-called ‘I-it’ and an ‘I-thou’ relationship and we help participants determine how they can make effective use of this as a manager. In addition, our programme covers important topics such as developing a transformational relationship with team members, listen actively and effectively, supporting thought processes, asking challenging questions and so on.
